Ferranti Technologies (FTL) is keen to support the local community in various activities including work experience programmes, Engineering Education Schemes and assisting charity events both locally and nationally.
EES
FTL took part this year in the EES (Engineering Education Scheme) run by the EDT (Engineering Design Team) an independent registered charity, whose mission is to encourage young people to fulfil their potential through careers in science, engineering and technology.
The programme involves students from local schools/colleges undertaking a project for a 6 month period within a business. The project must be a real live problem with the business and the students are required to find a solution which involves designing and developing their product. The students are then required to present their design to a panel of judges at the Celebration Assessment Day. Read more in our Case Study
Work Experience
The work experience programme involves Year 10 secondary school students experiencing working life, which will enable students to broaden their outlook and help them move from education to work or training enabling them to choose a suitable career. They attend at various periods throughout the year for one week placements.
Charity Events
We are also committed to supporting various charity events to assist them in reaching their goals.
