Manufacturers from Oldham enjoyed a tour of the facility at Ferranti Technologies’ site at Cairo Mill following a breakfast networking event organised by the Business Growth Hub.
Ferranti played host as guests were welcomed to the ‘Survive & Thrive – Access to Finance’ event by Sue Barnard, from the Manchester based goverment funded Hub and senior managers from Ferranti.
Mark Sutherberry from the Manufacturing Advisory Service talked about the services and assistance available to manufacturers.
Brian Devlin, from NatWest Bank was at pains to point out that ‘Banks are lending’ to small & medium sized enterprises and discussed with the audience how the financial services industry is helping support manufacturing.
Paul Cox, Head of Quality & Continuous Improvement at Ferranti gave an insight into the workings of the defence manufacturing industry and how the companies reputation and intgerity was key to its success in a global market.
